The words "Matahari Terbit" means Sunrise. Sanur Matahari Terbit Beach has a large and tidy parking area. Just park your vehicle near the entrance gate and secure your belonging before swimming or surfing.
One who need a therapy using black sea sand will love to visit this beach. Sometime the wave is high, so the swimmer should pay more attention, although it could be more fun for the surfer. Due to erosion, the wave breaker is built at some sections of the beach.
Having experience from tsunami disaster, the goverment also built a tsunami alarm system at Sanur Matahari Terbit Beach. The alarm is operated by Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika. It can be heard up to 3 km.
